A holistic health approach takes into account all of the factors in your life that could influence your fitness and over all wellbeing. Some of these factors include: your job, your relationship, your age, your gender, genetics, and diet. By better understanding how our environment influences all factors in our life, mind, and body, we can find the right solution to live in a way where everything functions as best as possible.
Your personalized approach to health
To me, health and well-being are not limited to diet and exercise. While it is important to move your body everyday, I believe that everyone should find a lifestyle that is healthy, adaptable, and most importantly, sustainable in the long run.
This means, moving in a way that you enjoy and look forward to each day. Eating foods that fuel your body properly and allow you to perform all activities that you want- whether that's playing with your kids, biking with friends on the weekends, or even walking up the stairs without getting winded. Also, taking time out each day for self care (i.e. reading a book, getting a massage, meditating, cooking) to calm your mind and recharge.
And even though finding this balance and lifestyle takes time, and experimentation, it is the best gift you can give yourself.
